Duct Cleaning Services in North America

What is duct cleaning and ventilation system?

When we speak about duct cleaning and ventilation systems, we are talking about a fan forced heating system through ductwork. The most common furnaces can be electric, natural gas, oil, or propane. Heating systems have two types of ductwork: hot air (registers) and cold air (returns).

When the furnace clicks on, cold air is drawn from the bottom third of the room(s) where the return is located (usually in the centre of the house). The air is pushed through the furnace, heated, and pushed into each room.

Why do you need duct cleaning?

Most people spend 60% to 90% of their time indoors, according to the American Lung Association. More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies and respiratory problems. The level of some hazardous pollutants in indoor air has been found to be up to 70 times greater than in outdoor air, according to the USEPA.

Dust, mould, and pollen are just a few of the ingredients that make up the refuse in your heating and air conditioning duct system. This is why Duct cleaning provides allergy relief, eliminates odours, and reduces dust and housework.

Duct Cleaning Process

Our cleaning team is part of the National Air Duct Cleaner Association (NACDA).

The system unit creates a powerful vacuum, pulling dislodged contaminants into the filtration system. This filtration system is so efficient that it captures 1/300th the diameter of a human hair.

We use the “push pull method”. First, we hook up a large vacuum at the furnace room. We seal off all the vents and then pressure clean each register one at a time using an “air rake”.

If you wish, you can also have the vents sanitized. This is a hospital-grade disinfectant that kills bacteria, dust mites, fungi, and mould.

This is a small tube that releases high-pressure air and once inserted inside the register, slowly pushes all the dust and debris towards the furnace where the vacuum extracts it. RPM guarantees the work 100%.

A 15,000 CFM vacuum is connected to the duct system near the furnace.

Two-inch access holes are drilled into the air ducts.

Up to 300 PSI of high pressured air is used to air scrub each supply and return air run.

We use skipper lines throughout the main duct runs in conjunction with compressed air to remove any existing debris. While this is occurring, your system is always under negative pressure to ensure a thorough job.

All access holes are sealed with special caps.

Your system is then sanitized with an environmentally safe sanitizing agent (optional).

The furnace is vacuumed, the blower bearings are checked, the blower is cleaned, the filters are checked, and the exterior of the furnace is cleaned.
